|Bora Petkova was born in 1979 in Varna, Bulgaria.|
In 2004 she graduated with MFA in Sculpture from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Petkova has been awarded with prizes for emerging artist from St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation (2005), M-Tel Award (2007) and the Gaudenz B. Ruf Award (2008). In 2008 she took part in the Young Artists Biennial, Bucharest, Romania. Until 2009 works in Bulgaria and realizes spatial process based installations for specific environment: Credo Bonum Gallery, Rayko Alexiev Gallery, Vaska Emanouilova Gallery, Sofia and Georgi Velchev Art Museum, Varna, Bulgaria. In 2010 receives the UniCredit Full Grant for AIR program in Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella, Italy and participates at the 2nd International Antakya Biennial, Turkey. The same year starts to work with/in public space. In 2011 receives a research grant from Goethe-Institut, Bulgaria for her work at Lichtenberg Studios AIR program in Berlin, Germany in collaboration with HR-Stamenov. In 2012 exhibits in institutional and museum spaces: National Museum of Literature P.K.Yavorov House Museum, Sofia Arsenal - Museum for Contemporary Art, Sofia Art Gallery, Goethe-Institut, UniCredit Studio, Sofia, Bulgaria; Center for Contemporary Art "The Ancient Bath", History Museum, Plovdiv, Bulgaria and works with/in public space.
