Roman Simic was born in Zadar, Croatia in 1972. graduated in Spanish language and literature / world literature at the University of Zagreb; works as the editor of Quorum literary magazine, editor-in-chief of the Festival of the European Short Story and the series of the anthologies of European short story; published various articles, translations of Spanish essays and literary reviews for the Croatian National radio, magazines and newspapers (Vijenac, Zarez, Vecernji list, Kolo ...); edited Libido.hr (an anthology of Croatian erotic prose, Nacional, Zagreb, 2002).

In 1992 and 1996 Roman Simic got the second Goran Award for young poets.
As a prose writer he participated in the presentation of younger Croatian prose in Vienna (2001, 2003); at the International Literary Meeting Days of André Malraux in Sarajevo (2000), at the Biennale of Young Artists of Europe and the Mediterranean in Rome (1999). His short stories are published in various selections and anthologies of contemporary Croatian prose.
Publications: U trenutku kao u divljini (poetry; Goranovo proljece, 1996., Zagreb); Mjesto na kojem cemo provesti noc (stories, Naklada MD, 2000, Zagreb; Polish translation, Warsaw, 2003).

His stories have been translated into German, Slovenian, Italian, English and Polish.
