Monika Kompaníková lebt als Autorin in Bratislava. Geboren wurde sie 1979 in Waagbystritz (Povazska Bystrica); Studium der Grafik und Malerei an der Hochschule für Bildende Kunst in Bratislava. „Weiße Plätze“, ihr neuestes Buch erscheint im Frühjahr 2007.

Field interviewer in a Socio-graphic mapping of Roma settlements in Slovakia carried out in 2003 by the Institute for Public Affairs and S.P.A.C.E non-profit organization.
